Getting started
Does my family each need their own device?
It helps, but it isn't required. Every family member gets their own profile. Plenty of families share a household iPad, while older kids use their own iPhone or Apple Watch. Use whatever mix of devices you already have.
Does Choreo need an account or email?
No. You create a family right on the device, and others join with a simple invite code. There's no Choreo account to sign up for, and no email needed to use the app or to manage your subscription.
Can grown-ups have chores too?
Yes. Choreo is for the whole family. Add chores for parents right alongside the kids' so the work, and the credit for it, feels shared.
Devices and syncing
Which devices does Choreo work on?
iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. Apple Watch and Apple TV are built into the app, so there's nothing extra to download for them.
How does syncing work?
Through Apple's CloudKit. There are no Choreo servers in the middle. Each device signed in to iCloud stays in sync on its own, usually within a few moments of a change.
Something looks out of date on one device.
Open Choreo on that device and give it a moment to catch up. Check that it's signed in to iCloud and has a connection. If it still looks behind, email us and we'll help.
The free trial and Choreo Plus
Is there really a free trial?
Yes. Choreo is free to download and free to use for 14 days, the whole app, nothing held back. After that, it needs a Choreo Plus subscription to keep going.
How much does Choreo Plus cost?
$2.99 a month or $19.99 a year, subscribed and managed through the App Store. The yearly works out to $1.67 a month, billed once a year.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Choreo Plus is an App Store subscription, so cancelling takes a few taps in your device Settings under Subscriptions. You keep Choreo Plus through the time you've already paid for.
Can I switch between monthly and yearly?
Yes. Open Settings on your device, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose the cadence you want. Changes take effect at the next renewal.
What happens to my data if I stop?
Your family's data is encrypted with your family's key and synced through Apple's CloudKit, so it stays with you whether or not you subscribe. If you come back to Choreo later, everything is right where you left it.
Privacy and safety
Can Choreo see our family's information?
No. Choreo runs no servers of its own. Your chores, photos, names, and points are encrypted with a key only your family holds. We genuinely can't read them.
Are there ads or tracking?
None. No ads, no third-party tracking, and no analytics SDKs. Choreo is paid for by Choreo Plus subscriptions, not by anyone's data.
Is it safe for young children?
Yes. There's a picture-first mode for kids who aren't reading yet, and the game side is gentle on purpose: small point values, no leaderboards, and badges that celebrate showing up rather than winning.
